I remember my conversation with Andy Shane the Public Relations TWITTER Man on the phone from Idearc/SuperMedia regarding my posts on Twitter and Local Search Blogs and Forums. You see, Andy is “the PR” guy for SuperMedia. What a tough job it must be. Most of the companies followers are employees and the company has less than I do on Twitter. They are doing a horrible job. Weak voice and no real connection. No real offer. No real value. Like I said a thousand times before…. why do you want to “Subscribe” to what SuperMedia is pushin to talking about on the interwebnets? I have some real ideas at what they can offer. They have the money to afford to make my ideas work.

Basically, I am working on patenting a system that allows you to price local products and services in your area, read “scraped” reviews from other review sites, and clients can share video testimonials (authentic not like all the fake ones created on sites like SuperPages.com by sales reps and customers) and even send pictures that are archived with receipts. This application will be very slick. Before the receipts are uploaded, the client will be able to edit them via a cut/paste/margin the private information via editing tool.

Behind it all, a system that ranks and analyzes all this information. Search via mobile browser using the sites Google Search bar with terms  such as: “Water Heater Dallas” and it will offer results that include the cost of service and results from actual clients, business names, reviews, and receipt information for your area. All of this on a mobile application using GPS.

Just waiting on the right coders, designers, and folks to make this happen.

Back to what I was saying, they (as in Corporate America) just don’t get it. Just as much as the means in which consumers find information is changing, so is the frequency and methods of communication. Email was the start of the evolution, then chat, next is video conferencing and social platforms. What is so challenging? Combining the social activities of work and life is a struggle for guys like Andy to understand. They assume social media and communication is a work distraction and decreases productivity. I believe that an organization with a monitored social workforce, as big as the yellow pages, has a huge advantage in the marketplace and a potential strong share of voice. Got profile pages for sales consultants and employees? Contact pages within the corporate site? How about authentically communicating activity? Label the activities, benefit both client and the organization. This has already been adopted by many small businesses who know how to market and promote these small companies amongst the noise. So how do they make it happen? The first step is to create a virtual desktop or framework that combines work and life in one.
